"I paste, unstick, take away, pigment, sand down, cover in sand, think, paint still life or some shoes.”
Denis Blondel was born in 1957 in Harfleur, France. He was first a musician, and gave up the piano and the guitar in the beginning of the 90’s in order to spend full time on figurative painting. His technique is modern, and expresses a great spontaneity. The mix of his techniques is based on a research of light and on a specific aestheticism. Indeed, the technique, the style is the essence of its art itself. Before, his inspiration was from strip cartoons. Today, his inspiration is wider: nudes, still life, or even shoes… He paints with an original mix of mediums: acrylic, pastels and ink, which relieves his collages.
