Who is Micowël ?

If not the complete artist, Micowël can at least be described as eclectic. He has trained in a wide range of disciplines, including the fine arts, applied arts, visual expression and communication, the performing arts, silkscreen printing, engraving and photography.

He is heavily involved in street theatre. Some performers stand out by their commitment and unconventional character: what can be said of someone who converted a bus into a giant contraceptive on behalf of an Aids campaign?

Micowël has also worked with advertising and communication agencies as a graphic designer and illustrator. But the artist in him has developed a particular niche for himself: he has produced painting after painting of cows. He has even taken to drawing and colouring them on stage, making a theatre performance of his painting. He has become a regular performer at the Braderie de l'Art in Roubaix where he stages 24 hour public sessions, and at the Restcycling Art Festival in Berlin.

Micowël's cows have been the subject of numerous one-man and public exhibitions, including Ho la Vache! (Mail Art), and for three years already Vaches d'Artistes.
